Marks

Introduction

This article explains what Marks are and how they are used to solve a logic puzzle. Here are the verbs for the logic puzzle "Five Houses". While the names for the verbs may change, all logic puzzles should use the same character to represent each verb. In the Verbs form, the verb's character is under the Code column. These characters are given below. Every cell of the Grids form contains one of these three characters.

• The Negative verb is represented by the 'X' character.
• The Positive verb is represented by the 'O' character.
• The Possible verb is represented by the blank character.

Make Your Mark

Before you begin solving a logic puzzle, every cell in the grids contains the possible verb (a blank). Here is what you need to know to solve a logic puzzle.

• You must use the Grids form to solve a puzzle.
• Press the Mark button to toggle between the negative ('X') and positive ('O') marks.
• Click on a cell that has the possible mark (a blank) to enter your mark.
• Press the Undo button to undo the last mark you entered.

The marks in the grids are also in the Marks form, and in the Chart form if the mark is positive. A solution is found when the grid is filled with the proper negative ('X') and positive ('O') marks.
